Ina, a bear released about six years ago from the Piatra Neamţ Zoo, where she was held in a cage for 20 years, remains a prisoner, even though she arrived at the Zărneşti sanctuary.
For 20 years, the bear Ina was trapped in a cage that she shared with her sister, Anca, at the zoo in Piatra Neamţ. An extremely small space, a single pen, a single pool of water, a single den and a single, very small, walking area.
In 2014, the local administration in Piatra Neamţ agreed to give up Ina after numerous insistences of the Millions of Friends Association and the National Environmental Guard.
Thus, the bear Ina arrived, after two decades of captivity, in the LiBearTy sanctuary from Zărneşti, where she has a huge land on which she can walk, just like in freedom.
However, the bear Ina proceeds in the same way as when she was captive in the zoo in Piatra Neamţ and spins in a circle, just as in the pen in which she closed.
Praktisk, her mind remained trapped in an imaginary cage, notes bizbrasov.ro.
Images of the “captive” bear Ina and the imaginary cage have gone viral on social media, where representatives of the Million Friends Association have called for help to help the abused and rescued bears.
