The Sumerian people were one of the earliest civilizations in Mesopotamia and Sumeria. Sumerians are considered to be the inventors of writing, as well as many other things that we still use today such as math, architecture, and astronomy. However, there is a lot about the Sumerian culture that isn’t widely known. This blog post will discuss who they were and what their role was in history.

Who were the Sumerians?

Sumeria was an ancient civilization from Mesopotamia, which means it existed in the area between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. The Sumerians spoke a language called Sumerian, which no longer exists today. They lived in one of the earliest civilizations on Earth, with some archaeologists estimating their existence to be as early as 5000 B.C., but scientists don’t have any conclusive evidence about their origins.

The Sumerians were a civilization of people who lived in what is now Iraq, Kuwait, and parts of Syria. The sumerian mystery is the stories that surround these ancient Sumerians from before the time they first started to use written records. Sumers are said to have established their culture as early as 5000 BC. Some mysteries include where they came from and how they managed to build such an advanced society with no apparent outside help. We will explore all of this in today’s blog post!
