It’s Official: NASA discovered another Earth
NASA’s Kepler space telescope has discovered another Earth-like planet orbiting a star in the “habitable zone.” The planet, known as Kepler-452b, is about 60% larger than Earth and is located about 1,400 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus. It orbits a sun-like star, about 20% brighter, and is slightly cooler and older than our own sun. The fact that Kepler-452b orbits within the habitable zone of its star mean that it has the potential to support liquid water on its surface, making it an ideal target for future study.
